Courchevel

Based in Three Valleys - the largest inter-linked ski area in the world, Courchevel is considered to be one of the best resorts in the Alps for the quality and variety of pistes, making it ideal for beginners and experts alike. Located in the Savoie region of the French Alps, the original resort was planned during the Second World War and Courchevel 1850 was significant as it was the first resort in France to be constructed from scratch rather than based around an existing village.

Put simply Courchevel, with its beautiful alpine chalets, is the perfect destination for a ski and snowboarding holiday.   

Courchevel History

Courchevel also refers to the towns of Courchevel 1300 (Le Praz - the original village), Courchevel 1550, Courchevel 1650 (Moriond), and Courchevel 1850, which are named for their altitudes in metres. The highest point in Courchevel 1850 is in fact only 1747 meters.

Courchevel Après-Ski

Courchevel offers a wide variety of bars, restaurants and shops. As you'll expect, during the winter Courchevel is a vibrant Ski resort offering varied après-ski entertainment with something for everyone. Go shopping and take advantage from the 60 or so shops open during the winter season. Taste local and regional specialities or eat at around 20 restaurants in the various resort levels.
